Just as the warming days of Spring remind us to freshen the house with a good cleaning, or the beginning and ending of each school year remind us to check our hurricane preparedness and disaster prevention plans, the beginning of Autumn is our cue to re-evaluate our risk of falling and make adjustments to our fall prevention measures.
September 21-25, 2020, is the National Council on Aging Falls Prevention Week.
Visit the NCOA website for Fall Prevention resources, tips, and guides.
Aging True has provided flyers for clients and caregivers this week – if you missed yours or would like another copy, click the thumbnail to download them here!
Our Clay County Community Senior Centers have also been promoting Falls Prevention week! Thank you to the Northeast Florida Area Health Education Commission for visiting the Orange Park center on Monday to provide one-on-one (and socially distanced!) demonstrations of fall prevention tools and assistive devices at the lunchtime drive through.
